Neutral (if wild)
Solid surfaced blocks with a minimum of two block spaces above them
Spawning[edit | edit source]
Natural generation[edit | edit source]
Raccoons spawn on grass blocks at light levels of 9 or more with at least 2 block space above. They often spawn in groups of 4 during world generation.
Drops[edit | edit source]
Raccoons will drop 0–2 fur when killed. This can be increased by 1 per level of looting used, for a total of 1 to 5 fur with Looting III. They drop 1–3 experience when killed by a player or tamed wolf.
Behavior[edit | edit source]
Raccoons are neutral mobs, and will attack you if you provoke them. They will also attack any mob that attacks them, such as tamed wolves. They wander around aimlessly, chirping occasionally. Raccoons, among other mobs, will avoid cliffs high enough to cause fall damage, and usually stay out of water. Raccoons will also attack smaller mobs such as insects and kitties.
Taming[edit | edit source]
Raccoons are tamed by giving them any edible item, including rotten flesh (they don't get food poisoning if they eat it) and golden apples. It only takes one such item to tame a raccoon. When tamed, the naming screen will appear. Raccoons can also be led with a lead.
